Palma Subway
- Palma de Mallorca, España.
The railway network of the Balearic Islands
The metro of Palma de Mallorca is a metropolitan railroad system that connects the center of the city of Palma with the university area. It opened in 2007 and consisted of nine stations.
A comprehensive signage project was carried out with the collaboration of architects David GarcÃa and Antón Chacartegui. From the beginning of the project, we designed the logo, façade applications, general signage solutions, graphic design, typography, pictograms, maps. All relevant station information in corridors and on platforms was worked on in conjunction with the project management.
Signes was awarded the contract for the implementation of the signaling, working in unison with the five construction companies that were building the subway. Signes fabricó las marquesinas exteriores de acceso a las estaciones, un espectacular diseño de los arquitectos GarcÃa y Chacartegui que convierte una estructura metálica en umbráculo.
More than four kilometers of illuminated signs were produced for all accesses and platforms, as well as pictograms, positional signs and information panels. This ambitious project was carried out by our Company in record time, meeting the strict deadlines set for the work.
