Jean Nouvel's palm trees

The Renaissance Fira Hotel is a hotel managed by the Marriot chain, designed by the Atelier Jean Nouvel team of architects, with the collaboration of the Barcelona architectural firm Ribas & Ribas.

The building consists of two slender towers, joined on their interior facades by the terrace floor and the restaurant floor.

The project is a great interpretation of the plant world. The white facades with palm tree serigraphs -which are windows from inside the rooms-, the plant graphics printed on the black glass facade, and the large forest of palm trees and interior vegetation, integrate nature into the architecture in an innovative way, forming a spectacular vertical garden.

Working with these architects on hotel signage is always a plus for Signes. The ideas are clear from the start and our work is much simpler. It lies in seeking the best industrial solutions, testing – with models and prototypes – the most complex parts, and proposing discrete materials or the most subtle graphic applications, as required by the architecture and the project.

It lies in seeking the best industrial solutions, testing – with models and prototypes – the most complex parts, and proposing discrete materials or the most subtle graphic applications, as required by the architecture and the project. Signes proposed an industrial solution that satisfied both parties, making it white by day and green by night. Lighting was an important issue. Green LED hoses were applied at specific locations to enhance the vegetation of the project.

In short, a minimalist and minimalist implementation of signage, to identify and signpost the hotel, intervening in a controlled way in the interior design.
