Corachan
- Barcelona, España.
Everything changes, nothing changes
Under this motto, ClÃnica Corachan faces a transformation project in which, based on the same principles of proximity, quality and professionalism that they have projected since their foundation in 1921, they make a firm commitment to technology and innovation.
Taking advantage of the inauguration of the Clinic’s fourth expansion, they decided to renew the signage program, also incorporating the new brand that they are launching for the first time. This change posed a major challenge for the wayfinding needs study. As a result of the different expansions that the institution has undergone, the internal circulation is very complex, which runs through four buildings of different architecture and with different levels that are connected to each other.
In a collaborative work with the Mucho design studio, which was in charge of the graphic design, Signes developed the needs study, with an analysis and revision of the coding systems, identification and numbering of floors, coding of consultations and numbering of rooms, to improve the coherence of the whole. It also developed the complete Wayfinding project, as well as the industrial design, production and installation of the exterior and interior signage for the new extension.
The wafinding project was based on lightweight applications with light aluminum elements, floating on the wall, adapting to the different spaces of the clinic and trying to create a visual connection for all the buildings that is lost in the different architectural environments. Special emphasis was placed on ensuring the perception of spatial orientation by reinforcing the directional information on the axes of vertical displacement, at important crossroads or at transition points between buildings that help to understand in which building and on which floor the user is at any given moment.
