Baqueira Beret or how to get lost in the snow
The City Council of Naut Aran, municipality to which the ski resort Baqueira Beret belongs, had a problem in 2011: non-regular skiers coming to the valley had problems of location in the area of Baqueira 1500.
The location of apartment buildings, hotels, restaurants, stores and cafes is – due to the complex architecture of the environment – a real puzzle. Our Wayfinding department conducted the needs study of the area, ordering the messages and placing the pieces in the places of uncertainty to solve this problem.
The signage project established a hierarchy of destinations: first, the most relevant and permanent ones that do not require changes over time (squares, common areas, parking, lockers, medical center, pharmacy, etc.). The second level covered hotels and apartment buildings that have a higher flow of users.
For the third and last level, stores and restaurants, a flexible system was designed with greater ease of change. The materials and finishes of the supports comply with the rigorous climatology of the area. Signes also carried out the fabrication and installation of all the elements.
